The City Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the City.  In accordance with the City of Riverview Charter, the City Manager shall supervise the administrative affairs of the City and shall carry out the policies formulated by the City Council.  He shall be charged with the preservation of the public peace and health and the safety of persons and property, and shall see to the enforcement of the ordinances of the City, the City Charter and the laws of the State.  He shall attend Council meetings with the right to take part in discussions but not to vote.   He shall keep the Council informed of the conditions and needs of the city and shall make such reports and recommendations as he may deem advisable, and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the City Charter or required of him by ordinance or resolution of the Council, not inconsistent with the City Charter.

All department heads for the City of Riverview report directly to the City Manager.
