The May 17, 2012 Planning Commission Meeting is Cancelled
The Community Development Department is the principal advisor to the City Manager, City Council, Planning Commission, Economic Development Authority, Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, Citizens Community Development Advisory Committee and Riverview Vision on all municipal functions related to:
- zoning
- land use
- economic development
- capital improvement planning
- strategic planning
- urban development
The department assists other departments in preparing applications for various state and federal grants in the areas of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), general planning, recreation, community development, public safety, brownfield redevelopment and other areas.

Housing Rehabilitation Program 
The City of Riverview is pleased to offer the Housing Rehabilitation Program.
This Program is designed to assist Riverview residents in a low to low-moderate income range that are in need of home improvements. Our program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and urban Development (H.U.D.), under the direction of Wayne County.
We are currently establishing a waiting list.
