PROJECT INFORMATION
FORT STREET RECONSTRUCTION INFORMATION
	Approximately four-miles of Fort Street will undergo reconstruction starting on August 29, 2011 with an estimated completion date of October 2013. The targeted areas are between Sibley Road in Riverview to Cloverlawn Avenue in Lincoln Park. Are there any updates from MDOT for Riverview for September 2011?   September 2011, the median between north and southbound Fort Street will been cleared of most trees between Sibley and Pennsylvania. Some of the trees under the power lines will remain. Trees will be replanted in the last phase of construction in 2014.   A 16-inch water main will be replaced on Pennsylvania alongside the Pro-Clean property. This main will be extended across Fort Street to the Mobil Station. The streets will not be torn up for this. Instead, the process of under road boring  will be used for minimal impact to traffic. The main will also run along southbound Fort Street, half-way between the two Pro-Clean entrances.   How many lanes of traffic will be down if any and will any intersections be inaccessible? The intersection at Pennsylvania will have one lane reduction on the outside lanes during the installation of the water main crossing Fort at Pennsylvania.  NB Fort Street at Pennsylvania will have a one lane reduction.   The work planned at Huntington and Vreeland has been postponed until summer of 2012.
		Precautions have been taken to keep at least one lane of traffic open at all times, as well as continuous access to all businesses along Fort Street using temporary gravel drives.
The four cities that will be affected by the construction are: Riverview Southgate Wyandotte Lincoln Park		Work will cease and lanes will re-open for municipal events including the Downriver Cruise and Major Holidays.
